Join us for our Beginning Quilting Class taught by the Appletree Quilting Center Staff. Learn all the basics needed to create this wonderful throw sized quilt. From choosing your fabric; to pressing, to cutting, to piecing and all the tricks in between to piece a perfect block. Learn how to set the blocks and add mitered borders and what pitfalls to avoid. Then finish by machine quilting and binding. This is the perfect class to start your quilting journey, or just brush up on some of your skills. This class meets 8 times over a span of 11 weeks with notebook and pattern included.

The Courtside Bag is a hybrid backpack/duffle that can be used for sports, travel, or shopping. The bag opens wide for easy access. It has multiple slips and zipper pockets and even a trolley sleeve.

Are you ready for a new challenge using your Premier+ 2 Ultra or Creativate (mySewnet) software? Well, here it is! We will be putting a different twist on a traditional Baltimore Album quilt by making it all embroidery. Petal and bird shading will be explored and the use of many, many different fill patterns to achieve a unique look. Also, we will utilize super designs and various motifs and motif overlays. We will digitize large areas and split them into multiple hoopings using the design splitter. Because several designs must be split, use of printed placement patterns will help along with design positioning on the machine. Of course, there will be quilting in the hoop and we will create a beautiful embroidered border. There is a $50 sign up fee and then you will be billed $10 each month following the zoom Lecture.

You choose your fat quarters, and we will cut the pieces to make this cute pillow with ease. A great project for the beginner sewist. Pillow finishes at 16" with the border. In this creative class, you will learn how to design and construct a fabric stained glass rose that mimics the look of traditional stained glass. It is a wonderful blend of fiber art techniques which we will go over step by step from choosing fabrics to finishing and everything in between. Never search for your USBs again. This wonderful USB holder will keep you organized and in one place. The holder is all completed in the hoop and is sewn out quickly. It is a fun quick project that will be finished by the end of class

This project is a quilt in the hoop design. You will embroider square blocks and then assemble with a simple sashing. There are several embroidery designs to choose from to make the blocks. This is a great project for sharpening your skills in assembling the blocks. The finished sample is approximately 40’ x 40”

Get to know and use your embroidery machine with this fun class by making a lovely zipper pouch entirely in the hoop. You just need 2 Fat Quarters of complementary fabrics and a scrap plus matching zipper.

Join Amy in learning how to piece this easy fence rail pattern using a main focus fabric along with two coordinating fabrics. This is a beginner friendly class for new sewists.

This traditional pattern was designed after the 1777 victory of the American army over the British General John Burgoyne at the Battle of Saratoga. This was the first major victory of the American forces over the British and helped encourage the French to join the war on the side of the Americans. The quilt has clean lines and patriotic colors to celebrate the 250th birthday of the USA.

This quilt is a variation of the traditional disappearing 9 patch pattern. By changing a couple of the pieces in the block we get a different look. We will assemble the block, cut it apart, and reassemble the block before putting the blocks together in strips and then into rows. We will talk about the nesting technique and mitered borders. This quilt is accuquilt Go! friendly.

This is the easiest quilt to make! Select several of our cotton flannels and we will pre-cut and pre-fringe the blocks for you. All you have do is sew the blocks together! The magic happens when you wash and dry the quilt allowing the prefringed seam allowances to bloom. Class fee includes us precutting and fringing your fabric for you.

Geneva is a lovely quilt using three fabrics, a background and two focal prints. The blocks are set alternately with sashing and a border to frame them. We will learn a half square triangle variation to make the blocks.

In this class you will learn to create a beautiful and vibrant quilt of 9 colorful Lone Stars. Having created several of these designs, Aisha will share some tips with you to help refine your skill at mastering the 1/4” seam and matching the many diamond points by strip piecing the multiple brightly colored Lone Stars.

Inspired by the vintage cross stitch motifs, you can make this in 3 different sizes, small, medium, or large. Jean’s sample is the small size and measures 45 inches square. Feel free to experiment with different color combinations. Maybe a seasonal selection will suit your fancy.

Join Jean on learning how to make these quilted hugs/shawls. You can make a shawl for yourself or a friend or just to give away. Using 2 1/2” strips you will construct your fabric. Quilt with your favorite method – Stitch in the Ditch or on a Longarm. Finish with binding and add a closure – you are done! Also, can be made with a finished quilt or orphan blocks or an entire piece of fabric. These make great donation gifts or personal gifts to those in need of warmth.

The purrfect beginner class. We will be making the solid kittens in whatever color palette you choose. Amy used various pinks to create this stunning ombre effect.

Did you ever think you would make a quilt called Turkey Giblets? The accuquilt Go! company made the perfect B.O.B. die with that name and it makes a nice quilt. So we will use the die to cut the perfect pieces and then assemble the quilt. This quilt is easier than it looks and chain piecing makes it go fast.
