Blooming 9-Patch
This simple, traditional quilt pattern has recently returned to popularity. Its versatile design works beautifully with any color palette, radiating from the center in a burst of color that softens into gentle waves. Choose your favorite colorway and watch it brighten your room with a vibrant splash of color. The class sample is 75” X 85” but can be adapted to the size of your choice. There is strip piecing involved in the construction of this quilt.

This is the easiest quilt to make! Select several of our cotton flannels and we will pre-cut and pre-fringe the blocks for you. All you have do is sew the blocks together! The magic happens when you wash and dry the quilt allowing the prefringed seam allowances to bloom. Class fee includes us precutting and fringing your fabric for you.

Either way, it is made with a simple technique using the Strip Tube ruler. The focus fabric is literally the star (and border) of this quilt. Enhanced by the striking contrast of the background & strip set fabrics surrounding the star, this pattern creates a stunning secondary pattern. This class sample is a throw measuring 64”X64”, but there are 3 other sizes in the pattern to choose from! What will you do with your choice of fabrics?

Winter Solstice
This fun quilt will challenge how you think about color and layout. As it takes shape on the design board, an interesting secondary pattern emerges. The design uses two opposing blocks, each forming one quarter of a shared central star. It can be made with fabric strips, such as jelly-roll strips, complementary fabrics from a collection, or coordinating fabrics of your choice. I used creams, soft teals, and lavenders for my sample, but the pattern offers many possibilities for other color combinations. Please join me in this class and see how it speaks to you!
