Hand Piecing

Learn the basics of traditional hand piecing in this fun, hands-on class. Explore fabric selection, grainline considerations, marking techniques, and the basic hand stitch. It's always nice to have a little hand work to take along. Practice kit included. Fee $25.
Basic Hand Applique
with Dawn
A. 2:00 – 5 PM Sat. Mar. 20
Explore the basics of needle-turn applique. You will learn to applique points, curves, and valleys. Big pieces make it easy to master the techniques. Finishing instructions will be included to make your sample into a flanged pillow. Fee $30.
More Hand Applique
with Dawn

Don't let small pieces scare you away from making the quilts you love. In this intermediate class you will learn to make stress free circles, use cut away applique to easily sew narrow pieces, and reverse applique. Gain the confidence to tackle any applique pattern. Prerequisite: Basic Hand Applique or equivalent skills. Fee $40.
French Wren

This 40” wallhanging is made entirely from one layer cake bundle. It combines easy piecing and applique techniques. Learn to think outside the box and open up new possibilities with precuts. Prerequisite: Basic Hand Applique Class or equivalent skills. Fee $40.
Medallion Quilt

Hone your hand applique skills on this beautiful Medallion wallhanging. Work on placement and skills for everything from stems to scrolls. Combine easy piecing units for a stunning work of art. Prerequisite: Basic Hand Applique Class or equivalent skills. Fee $40.
Fine Hand Quilting

B. 6:30 – 8:30 PM Tue. May 18
Learn how to achieve the perfect hand quilting stitch. Explore the mysteries of choosing perfect quilting designs for your quilt, marking the quilt top, and selecting the proper batting, backing, needles, and thread. Then learn how to layer, baste, and quilt your own masterpiece. Practice kit included. Fee $25.
